Obituary of Livingstone, Gladys Ella
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, November 1st , 2008 of Gladys Ella Livingstone ( nee Duncan ) of Summerside and formerly of Fortune Cove, P.E.I. , aged 93 years. Gladys was born on April 13th , 1915 in Fortune Cove, P.E.I. to her late parents, William & Janet ( nee Dickieson ) Duncan .
Beloved wife of the late Howard Livingstone. Loving mother of Donna ( Gus )Doucette of Linkletter Road,Roma ( Jim ) MacDonald of Wembly, Ab., Janet Gloutnez of Spruce Grove, Ab., Kay ( Joe ) Toth of Kelowna, B.C., Orrin ( Marie ) of S'side and Orville of Spruce Grove, Ab.. Also lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren , 2 great-great- grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by her sisters Ada ( Hugh ) MacLean of Ontario & Ethel MacNevin of Mount Royal, P.E.I..
Besides her husband & her parents ,Gladys was predeceased by her brother Samuel Duncan & her sisters Emmy Brown,Flossie Ellis, Annie Brooks, Eva Adams, Margaret Jelly & Helen Wedlock.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, Nov. 5th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, S'side. Memorial donations in Gladys' memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
