Obituary of Doucette, Homer John Frederick
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. , on Friday, August 15, 2008 of John Frederick "Homer" Doucette, of 199 Water St. Summerside, aged 69 years. Homer was born in Summerside P.E.I. on May 29, 1939, to his late parents Willard and Leona (Wedge) Doucette.
Beloved brother of Charles Doucette, Richmond,P.E.I. and Joan Marie Gallant, Toronto, Ont. and good friend of Alan and Mabel Crue, Summerside, and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 am. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday 6-9 only.
Memorial donations in Homer's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
