Obituary of Palmer, Verna May Ramsay
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, July 26th , 2008 of Verna May Ramsay Palmer ( nee MacFadyen ) of Borden-Carleton and formerly of Freeland , P.E.I. , aged 94 years. Verna was born on June 8th, 1914 in Victoria West, P.E.I. to her late parents, James J. & Beatrice E. ( nee Ramsay ) MacFadyen .
Beloved wife of the late Harold Lloyd Palmer. Loving mother of Elaine Verna Palmer of Borden & Lloyd Harold ( Sheila ) Palmer of Sydney Mines, N.S.. Also lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren Laurel ( Perry ) Palmer Thompson, John David Palmer ( Kendra Noonan ) , Chris ( Kyla ) Palmer, Kendra ( Stephen ) Gaudet & Grant ( Lynn ) Palmer along with her 5 great-grandchildren and her foster-children Karen Lynn Stewart & Danny McAleer. Survived by her sister Clarissa Ward of Richmond.
Besides her husband & her parents , Verna was predeceased by her son John David Palmer, her brothers Ellis & John MacFadyen, her sisters Elsie MacDonald & Kathryn Henderson and her mother & father-in-law John D. & Annie Pearl ( nee Burns )Palmer.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday,July 30th for funeral service in Cape Traverse United Church at 1:00 p.m. . Interment to take place in St. Peters Anglican Church Cemetery, Foxley River. Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. . In lieu of flowers , memorial donations in Verna's memory to the Borden United Church would be greatly appreciated.
Members of the Royal Canadain Legion, Branch # 10, Borden-Carleton will hold a Service of Remembrance on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
