Obituary of Kelly, Raymond Joseph
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at his late residence on Sunday, April 13th , 2008 of Raymond Joseph Kelly of Kinkora, aged 85 years. Raymond was born on June 20th , 1922 in Kinkora, P.E.I. to his late parents Ambrose & Lauretta ( nee Smith ) Kelly.
Beloved husband of Bernice ( nee Campbell ) Kelly & loving father of Brendan ( Diana ) of New Haven, Linda ( Sandy ) McClumpha of Bay Fortune, Kevin ( Lynn ) of Kinkora, Marina Kelly-Smith of Airdrie, Ab. and Carmen ( Mary ) of Edmonton, Ab. Also lovingly remembered by his 12 grandchildren Deidre, Patrick, Allison, Katelyn,Conor & Emma Kelly, Nicholas, Shawn & Kelly McClumpha, Mary Ann, Robyn & Aaron Smith. Survived by the following brothers & sisters-in-law : Blanche Strain of Emyvale, Marie ( Frank ) McAulay of Ch'town, Francis Campbell of Ch'town & Brendan ( Ruth ) Campbell of North Wiltshire .
Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his infant daughter Mary Ann, his brother Alfred ( Alice ) Kelly and his sister Doris ( Gerald ) Monaghan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, April 17th , 2008 then to St. Malachy's Church , Kinkora for funeral service at 10:30 a.m.. Memorial donations in Raymond's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation , the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
