Obituary of DeCoste, Joseph Alfred "Freddy"
?The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Wednesday , January 16th 2008, of Joseph Alfred 'Freddy' DeCoste of Wedgewood Manor, Summerside and formerly of St. Eleanors PEI, aged 80 years. Alfred was born on April 6th 1927 in Summerside P.E.I.. to his parents, the late John and Obeline (DesRoches) DeCoste.
Loving brother of Augustine (Gus), Summerside, and Mary (Steve) Kovacs of Winnipeg, Manitoba. . He is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Freddy was predeceased by his sister Angie (Wilfred) Doucette and by his brothers: Louis (Lena), John (Laura), Charles, (Lucy) and by his sister-in-law Rose DeCoste.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd.,Summerside. A memorial mass will by held in the spring at St. Paul's Church, Summerside. There will be no visiting hours. Interment to take place later in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Freddy's memory to the Wedgewood Manor
Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
