Obituary of Rogerson, Madeline " Peggy " Shirley
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Tuesday, December 11th, 2007 of Madeline 'Peggy' Shirley Rogerson ( nee Fleet ) of Summerside , aged 80 years. Peggy was born in Halifax , N.S. on May 3rd, 1927 to her late parents, Garfield & Evelyn ( nee Marks ) Fleet. Beloved wife of the late Gordon James Rogerson and also her first husband,the late Aubrey Armsworthy.
Loving mother of Audrey ( Victor ) MacLeod of Tyne Valley, Harry ( Gail ) of Wilmot Valley, Victor of Toronto, On., Robert ( Susan ) , Shirley ( Harry ) Spence, Gloria MacDonald & Karen Rogerson all of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Survived by her sisters Vera Sullivan & Lillian Ring and her brother Harry Fleet, all of Halifax, N.S. .
Besides her husbands & her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her sons Sterling, David,Peter & Paul , her brothers Gordon & Wilson Fleet , her sisters Annie Murphy & Fannie Dowling and grandson Jody MacLeod.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road,Summerside, until Friday, December 14th , then to Central Street Christian Church ,Summerside for memorial service at 11:00 a.m. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donation's in Peggy's memory to Parkhill Place, Summerside would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
