Obituary of Gallant, Raymond Gerard
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at his side after his battle with cancer at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Sunday, April 15th , 2007 of Raymond Gerard Gallant of Summerside , aged 69 years. Raymond was born in Urbainville on August 10th , 1937 to his parents Honor 'Henry' & Eva ( nee Caissie ) Gallant.
Beloved husband of Elva ( nee Arsenault ) Gallant.Loving father of Claudette ( Laurie ) Gallant of S'side, Pierre ( Karen ) of Abrams Village, Mike of Wellington & Diane ( Brian ) Richard of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by his 3 special grandchildren Charleen & Bruce Richard and Colton Gallant. Survived by his brothers & sisters ; Melvin Gallant ( Archange Brideau ) of Dominican Republic, Claire DesRoches of Miscouche, Ermine ( Jacques ) Gallant of Abrams Village, Adrian ( Joann ) Gallant of S'side & Geralda ( William ) Coughlin of Tyne Valley; his sister-in-law Christel Gallant of Moncton, N.B.; his aunts Edna Gallant of Duvar, Lucienne Gallant of S'side & Marie Arsenault of S'side; his uncles Gerard Wedge of S'side & Ephrem Caissie of Ont. ; and by many nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his brothers-in-law Albert DesRoches & Tommy Ford, his uncles Henri Gallant & Adrian Casey, sister-in-law Leona ( Raymond ) Arsenault, nieces Karen Arsenault & Patsy Arsenault, grand niece Jennifer DesRoches and parents-in-law Amedee & Evangeline Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, then to St. Paul's Church, S'side for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Raymond's memory to the Oncology Unit at the Prince County Hospital or the P.E.I. Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
