Obituary of McCormick, Joseph Frederick Robert " Bobby "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday , March 16th ,2007 of Joseph Frederick Robert 'Bobby' McCormick of Miscouche and formerly of Freetown, aged 57 years. Bobby was born on November 15th , 1949 in Summerside , P.E.I. to his parents, Betty ( nee Mallett ) McCormick and the late Frederick C. McCormick.
Beloved husband of Faye ( nee Morrison ) McCormick. Loving father of Bobby John ( Darby )of S'side, Donna ( Gary ) of Richmond, Nancy ( Jeremy ) of S'side and Danny living at home. Also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren Shiane, Hunter & Carley and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his sisters & brothers : Myrna ( Albert ) Gallant of Miscouche ; Theresa ( Phil ) Guest of Oshawa, Ont.; Fred ( Barbara ) of East Bideford ; Tom ( Linda ) of Ellerslie ; Diane ( Bob ) Tucker of S'side ; Donna ( Al ) Gallant of Comox, B.C. ; and Holly ( Wade ) Noye of Ellerslie.
Besides his father, Bobby was predeceased by his grandparents Joseph & Mary Mallett and William & Mary McCormick.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Bobby's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
