Obituary of Pineau, Lila Rose
?The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday, March 5 ,2007 of Lila Rose Pineau ( nee MacDonald ) of 372 Elm St., Summerside , aged 74 years. Wife of Leonard E. Pineau. Born in Grand River on August 20 , 1932, she was a daughter of the late John D. MacDonald and the late Margaret ( Bulger ) MacDonald.
Dear mother of Sheila ( Kenny ) Walsh, Summerside ; Lyndon ( Kathy ) of Summerside and Sharon at home. Also survived by a daughter-in-law , Gloria Pineau of Summerside,and grandchildren Stefan & Braylyn Pineau of Summerside, Tammy Richard of Summerside and Kent & Michael Walsh. Great-grandchildren Zakery & Leksy Taylor & Kira Walsh, all of Summerside. Sister of Ed ( Reta ) Mac Donald of Cardinal, Ontario;Vernon MacDonald of Summerside and Stella Warren of Summerside. Sisters-in-law Marion MacDonald of Cardinal, Ontario; Louise Montgomery of Spencerville, Ontario; Leona Pineau of Summerside; Shirley ( Preston ) Clow of Summerside and brother-in-law Terry Pineau ( out of province ).
Predeceased by brothers Jack, Herb,Byron & Austin and a sister Eileen Typhair. Also sadly missed by her family pet 'Hote' the cat.
Remains resting at the East Prince Funeral Home,245 Pope Road, Summerside.
Funeral Thursday, March 8 at St. Paul's Church,Summerside with funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. . Interment later in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, March 7, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. Donations in Lila's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
