Obituary of Gallant, Arthur Joseph

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Friday,December 29th , 2006 of Arthur Joseph Gallant of Summerside , aged 74 years. Arthur was born in St. Chrysostome , P.E.I. on January 13, 1932 to his parents, the late Theodore & Denise ( nee Arsenault ) Gallant. Beloved husband of Gerry ( nee Simmons ) Gallant and loving father of Edgar ( Barb ) Gallant of Ontario. Also lovingly remembered by his step-children Cedric Barlow of S'side, Sheldon ( Lynn ) Barlow of S'side, Randy ( Peggy ) Barlow of On., Cheryl Barlow, Kelly Barlow and Peggy ( George ) Perry all of S'side . Survived by the following brothers & sisters : Mary Ann ( Amand ) of Wellington, Sophia ( Sylvain ) Richard of S'side, Julianne ( Archie ) Arsenault of Wellington,Tony ( Stella ) of Wellington, Joseph ( Alice ) of S'side, Theresa ( Camille ) Bonnanfant of Digby, N.S., Gus of Montreal, Que., Andrew of S'side, Peter of S'side and Martin of Ch'town. Also survived by his uncle Alyre J.L. ( Louise ) Arsenault of St. Philip ,his mother-in-law Bernice Lockhart of S'side and his brothers & sisters-in-law James ( Linda ) Simmons of S'side, Elma Noye & Ralph Rogers of S'side, Roger & Gertie Simmons of Ab., Ron Simmons of Toronto, On. and Suzie Cosler of Michigan , U.S.A. along with several nieces & nephews, 3 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 2 great-step-grandchildren. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the East Prince Funeral Home Chapel, 245 Pope Road, Summerside on Wednesday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery , Summerside. Memorial donations in Arthur's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
