Obituary of Reid, George Carruthers
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Saturday , December 23rd , 2006 of George Carruthers Reid of Summerside and formerly of Middleton, aged 85 years. George was born in Charlottetown , P.E.I. on April 6th , 1921 to his parents, the late William & Georgie ( nee Carruthers ) Reid.
Beloved husband of Dorothy ( nee Milligan ) Reid and loving father of Vicki ( Eric ) Patton of Cranbrook, B.C. , Shelley ( Grant ) Moase of S'side, Trudy ( Robert ) Ross of Ellerslie and Bethany ( Douglas ) Vosper of Moncton, N.B. . Also lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren Michael, Daniel & Lisa Ross, Matthew, Jennifer & Gregory Moase, Jacqueline, Jonathan & Alexander Vosper and one great-grandchild Samara. Survived by his sister Wilma Evans of London, On. and his brothers Robert ( Norma ) of S'side and David ( Lynn ) of Central Bedeque.
Predeceased by his brothers James,William , John & his sister Betty.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday , Dec. 28th then to Summerside Church of the Nazarene for funeral service at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours on Wednesday , 2 - 4 & 7-9 PM . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in George's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Summerside Church of the Nazarene would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
