Obituary of Sobey, Barbara E. " Verna "

?The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Thursday , November 23, 2006 of Barbara Estelle 'Verna' Sobey ( nee Craig ),formerly of 390 Brophy Ave., S'side,aged 86 years. Verna was born in Lower Bedeque, P.E.I. on December 5th, 1919 to her parents , the late Melbourne & Ruby ( nee Murray ) Craig. Dear wife of the late Ray Sobey and loving mother of Barbara Dunstall of Cayuga, On. , Donna ( Fred ) Tobin of Bass River, N.S. ,Lynn ( Dale ) Crossman of Central Bedeque, Deanie ( John ) Lapointe of Central Bedeque, Craig of Cayuga, On. , David ( Kathy ) of S'side and Estelle Arsenault ( William Callaghan ) of Hull, England. Also lovingly remembered by her 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Ida Lord of Central Bedeque, her daughter-in-law Flo Sobey of Edmonton, Ab. and her sisters-in-law Annie Craig of Victoria P.E.I., Ruth Murray of Searletown, Stella Sobey of Ch'town and Georgie ( Eric ) Taylor of Cornwall. Besides her parents and her husband , Verna was predeceased by her son Wayne , her grandson Wayne , her brothers Lloyd & Ivan Craig,her brother-in-law Ralph Lord and her son-in-law Al Dunstall. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, November 28th , for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in Searletown People's Cemetery, Searletown. Memorial donations in Verna's memory to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated . Visiting hours on Monday, 2- 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .
