Obituary of Mahood, Helen Frances
The death occurred suddenly at Pembroke , Ontario on Tuesday ,September 5th, 2006 of Helen Frances Mahood ( nee Laughlin ) of Pembroke and formerly of Sherbrooke, P.E.I..Helen was born in Sherbrooke , P.E.I.to her late parents, Edward J. & Mamie ( nee MacNeill ) Laughlin.
Lovingly remembered by the following brothers & sisters : Errol Laughlin of Travellers Rest, Claire Matthews of S'side, Edward ( Agnes ) Laughlin of Brantford, On., Teresa ( John ) Johnson of Warick,Rhode Island ,Anita ( George ) O'Connor of Toronto, On., Urban ( Mary ) Laughlin of Sherbrooke and Allison Laughlin of Sherbrooke. Helen will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, grand & great-grand nieces & nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her sister-in-law Margaret Laughlin and her brothers-in-law Harold L. Matthews & Roland O'Connor.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, September 19th ,then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Parkdale Golden Age Foundation , 27 Roncesvalles Ave., Suite 401, Toronto , On. , M6R 2K4 a non-profit agency where Helen assisted many elderly people in obtaining a better quality of life. Visiting hours on Monday , September 18th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
