Obituary of Bishop, Lilly Doris
?The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Saturday,September 2nd,2006 of Lilly Doris Bishop ( nee Waite )of Sherbrooke , aged 86 years. Lilly was born in Sherbrooke, P.E.I. on December 13th ,1919 to her late parents, Frank & Annie ( nee MacEwen ) Waite. Beloved wife of the late Roland Bishop and loving grandmother to Scott & Shalan Bishop of Toronto,On. .
Surviveed by her daughter-in-law Sharon Bishop, her sisters-in-law Evelyn, Loretta & Ruth Waite, along with several nieces & nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents,she was predeceased by her son Alan , her sister Edna Bernard and her brothers Lorne,Russell, Ernest, Francis and Erskine Waite.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home,245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, for a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 A.M. . Interment to take place at a later date in Scarborough,On. . Memorial donations in Lilly's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
