Obituary of Arsenault, J. J. Armand
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday , March 27th , 2006 of J.J. Armand Arsenault of 9 Gerene Dr., Summerside, aged 72 years. Armand was born in Wellington, P.E.I. on June 8th , 1933 to his parents , the late Edmond & Rosella ( nee LeClair )Arsenault.
Beloved husband of Shirley ( nee MacDougall ) Arsenault . Loving father of Gerald ( Elaine ) of S'side and Gary of Manitoba. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kristie and Mitchell Arsenault and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Louis ( Francoise ) of Quebec City, Florin ( Marina ) of Miscouche, his sister Fedora Arsenault of S'side and the following brothers & sisters-in-law : Alma ( John ) Batherson of Maine, U.S.A., Dorothy Gallant of Moncton, N.B., Millie Hand of Louisiana, U.S.A., Loretta MacDougall of Maine, U.S.A. , Bob ( Dorothy ) MacDougall, Jim ( Irene ) MacDougall and Faustina MacDougall , all of Grand River, P.E.I..
Predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 3:00 P.M. . Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Armand's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated . Visiting hours on Wednesday evening only, 7 - 9 P.M. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
