Obituary of Burrell, James Andrew
Burrell : The death occurred at his late residence surrounded by his family at 381 MacEwen Road, Summerside, on Friday, February 24th , 2006 of James Andrew 'Andy' Burrell of , Summerside, aged 82 years. Andy was born in Yarmouth, N.S. on January 5, 1924 to his parents , the late J. Donald and Margaret Ann (Munro) Burrell. He is a veteran of WW 2 .
Beloved husband of Beatrice ( nee Cole ) Burrell. Loving father of Thomas Burrell,(friend Darla Miles), Connie Burrell (fiance Cecil Perry), twins Jim Burrell,(Friend Suzanne Campbell and daughter Kaylee, and Mavis Burrell, all of Summerside. He is also survived by his sisters: Roberta (Commodore Howard) Quinn, Sydney B.C. and Alberta Publicover of Truro N.S. brothers-in-law: Philip (Mickey) Cole, Jim (Ida) Mains, Frank (Irene) Cole and Robert (Joan) Cole, his sister-in-law Dorothy Viger and Jane Muskie and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Munro Mains, his sisters-in-law Marjorie Greenslade and Amy Turner and brothers-in-law Warren Publicover Bill Cole, Harvey Cole and George Cole.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd.,Summerside until Tuesday for a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at a later date in Yarmouth N.S.. Memorial donations in Andy's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by personal request.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
