Obituary of Higgins, Gordon Arnold
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside P.E.I. on Sunday, January 29th , 2006 of Gordon Arnold Higgins of 3 Sunset Cres., Travellers Rest and formerly of Kentville, N.S., aged 78 years. Gordon was born on February 14, 1927 in Kentville, N.S. to his parents , the late David & Myrtle ( nee Noltor ) Higgins.
Dear husband of Nan ( nee Corbin ) Higgins. Also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law Carol Higgins of S'side, his grandson Darren , granddaughter Kelly, along with several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers & sisters : George ( Sharon ) , Ralph ( Margie ), Jean MacGee, Hilda
Burton, Audrey Harvey and Grace ( Frank ) Taylor, all of Nova Scotia.
Predeceased by his son David, his brothers Ivan & Lawrence and his sisters Nellie, Rita, Velma and Carnita.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road,Summerside, until Wednesday , February 1st for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 P.M. . Interment to take place at a late date in People's Cemetery,Summerside. Memorial donations in Gordon's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only ,7 - 9 P.M. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
