Obituary of Chaisson, Bridget Mary
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by herfamily at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, January 18th, 2006 of Bridget Mary Chaisson ( nee Gallant ) Chaisson of Summerside, aged 80 years.Bridget was born in St. Eleanors, P.E.I. on March 13th, 1925 to her parents, the late John & Julia ( nee Arsenault ) Gallant.
Beloved wife of her first husband , the late Fred Gaudet and also her second husband , the late James Chaisson. Loving mother of Fred Jr.( Margaret) , John ( Cathy ), Theresa ( Darrell ) Gillis, all of S'side & Shirley ( Donnie ) Chaisson of Ch'town. Also lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, her 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by her sisters Roma ( Pat )Genereux of S'side, Janie Gervais of Ont. and Irene Arsenault of Boston, U.S.A. .
Predeceased by her brothers Wesley & Alyre Gallant and her brothers-in-law Eddie Arsenault and Arnold Gervais.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd.,Summerside until Saturday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:00 A.M.. Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Bridget's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Island HospiceAssociation of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
