Obituary of Cunningham, James " Jim " Leslie
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Thursday, December 22nd , 2005 of James 'Jim' Leslie Cunningham, formerly of 47 Haley Lane St., Summerside, aged 71 years. Jim was born in Moncton, N.B. on August 2nd, 1934, son of the late Walter & Frances ( nee Summerville ) Cunningham.
Dear husband of Diana ( nee Arsenault )Cunningham. Loving father of John ( Connie ) of Okotoks, Ab., Robert ( Brenda ) of Wetaskiwin, Ab. and David ( Sue ) of Fall River, N.S. . Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Catlin, Joshua, Robbie, Helena, Colton, Gregory and Megan and one great grandchild Ky. Survived by his sisters Gail ( Ronald ) Vaughn of Saint John, N.B. , Frances ( Ike ) Eisan of Belleville, Ont., his brother Mike ( Susan ) of Saint John,N.B. and his sister-in-law Jocelyn Cunningham of Moncton, N.B. .
Predeceased by his brother Stephen and his granddaughter Kaylegh.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, Dec. 27th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 A.M.. Memorial donations in Jim's memory to the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund or the Alzheimer's Society of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by family request.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
