Obituary of Poirier, Philonise Angeline
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor,Summerside
on Sunday, July 17th , 2005 of Philonise Angeline Poirier (nee DesRoches)
of Miscouche and formerly of St. Nicholas , aged 98 years. Beloved wife of the late
Frederick Stanley Poirier. Loving mother of Robert ( Doreen ) of St. Nicholas,
Euclide ( Leona ) of Newcastle, Ont., and Bernadette ( Bernard ) Kelly of
Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, Darlene Masters of
B.C., Colleen Poirier of St. Nicholas, Angela Poirier of S'side, Carol Jack, Tammy
Kelly & Cathy Kelly all of Halifax, N.S., David Poirier, Suzanne VanVoxtel, &
Chris Poirier all of Ontario, along with her 8 great-grandchildren. Survived by her
brother Urban ( Mary ) DesRoches of Miscouche. Predeceased by her parents
Joseph E. & Emilienne ( nee Poirier ) DesRoches, her son Alfred, and her other
brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road,
Summerside, until Wednesday , then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for
funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery.
Memorial donations in Philonise's memory to the Prince County Hospital
Foundation or the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly
appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
