Obituary of van Vliet, Brigitte Maria
van Vliet : The death occurred at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, N.B. on Tuesday June 21st 2005, of Brigitta (Brigitte or Kitty) van Vliet (nee Schuijt) of 147 Brennan Ave. Summerside aged 76 years. Beloved wife of Arnold van Vliet and beloved mother of Helen (Marshall) Clow, Nine Mile Creek, Marietta Hughes (Bruce MacCormack), Summerside, Arnold (Della), Leduc, Alberta, John (Arvilla), Summerside, Mark (Catherine), Brockville, Ont., Stephanie (Chris) Wells, Brockville, Ont., Michelle MacLean, Summerside. Loving Oma to 17 grandchildren: Rachel (Joanasie Eegeesiak), Andrew and Paul Clow, Andrea (Gary Muise), Valerie (Ian MacDonald), Christopher and Daniel Hughes, Shawn and Jason van Vliet, Lauren, Jillian and Adrienne van Vliet, Eric and Kiersten van Vliet, Sarah and Ian Wells and Logan MacLean. She is also survived by sisters and brothers in Holland, Miep van Adrichem,Truus (Jan) Bennis, Jan (Mini), Sjaak (Riet), Leni (Aad) Brouwer, Gerard (Gertie), Gonny Schuijt, Kees (Trees) and Dick (Jacqueline). She was predeceased by her infant daughter Judy, her parents Jan and Helena (Groenewegen) Schuijt, her sons-in-law Ron Hughes and Trevor MacLean and by her brother-in-law Leo van Adrichem. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, then to the St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment to take place in the St.Peter's Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay. Memorial donations in Brigitte's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.. St. Paul's CWL will hold a prayer service at 4:00 PM on Sunday for their late sister. Arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Rd. , Summerside .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
