Obituary of Tanner, Robert Arthur
Tanner : The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside ,P.E.I. on Saturday , February 19th , 2005 of Robert Arthur Tanner of 82 MacWilliams Dr. , Summerside and formerly of Dartmouth , N.S. , aged 46 years . Beloved husband of Yvette ( nee Arsenault ) Tanner . Loving father of Justin and Sarah of Summerside and Jerrica and Jordan of Dartmouth , N.S. . Survived by his brother David ( Joan ) of Lower Sackville , N.S. and his sisters Elizabeth ( Jim ) Phalen of Dartmouth , N.S. and Judith ( Ray ) Sigurdson of Winnipeg , Manitoba . Also lovingly remembered by father and mother-in-law Nazaire & Emma Arsenault of S'side , the following brothers and sisters-in-law Sylvia ( Dave ) Barron of Swift Current , Sask. , Teresa ( Blair ) Aitken of Summerville , P.E.I. , Noella ( Carl ) Arsenault of Kanata , Ont. , Melvin ( Elizabeth ) Arsenault of Winsloe , Gerald Arsenault of S'side , Catherine ( David )Bulger of Dartmouth , N.S. ,and Joanne ( Jeff ) Steele of S'side , along with numerous nieces and nephews . Predeceased by his eldest son Robert Charles Tanner , his parents John & Sarah ( nee Jones ) Tanner , and his brother John Hamilton Tanner . Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Rd. , Summerside until Wednesday, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 P.M. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery , Summerside at a later date . Memorial donation's in Bob's memory to his children's educational fund would be greatly appreciated . Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home , Summerside .
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
