Obituary of Bernard, Doris Marie
?Bernard: The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the
Prince County Hospital Summerside on Wednesday, January 12th , 2005 of Doris Marie
(nee Gallant) Bernard of 55 Roy Boates Ave. S'Side, aged 67 years. Dear wife of Melvin
Bernard. Loving mother of Donald (Sharon), S'Side, Yvon (Louella), S'Side, Yvonne
(Roger) Cormier, St. Gilbert, Gerard (Sharon), Medicine Hat, Ab., and grandmother of
Christopher, Melissa, Kathleen, Cynthia, Samantha, Jeremie, Jenny and Justin. She is
also survived by her brothers and sisters: Angela (Adrice) Goguen, Mississauga On.,
Alphie (Leona), Haute Aboujagane, N.B., Fred (Delma), Brampton On., Laurie (Louise),
Brampton On., Eddy (Sherlaine), Williamsburg On., Edgar (Edith), Kitchener On.,
Jeanette Arsenault, Brampton, On., and Val (Sharon), Cambridge On., her sisters-in-law
Lorraine Gallant, Mississauga, On., Shirley Gallant, Ontario, and Mary Gallant,
Brooklin, On.. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents
Hypollite and Aurelia (LaFrance) Gallant, her brothers Tony, Arthur, and Horace, her
sister Sarah, her brother-in-law Ronnie Arsenault, and her nieces Norma, Denise and
Debbie Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside
until Saturday then to St. Paul's Church for funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Interment to
take place later in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Memorial
donations in Doris' memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly
appreciated . Arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home , Summerside .
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
