Obituary of DeBay, Mildred " Ruth "
It is with great devastation that we announce the sudden passing at the SJRH, NB on August 4th, 2022 of Mildred “Ruth” DeBay (nee Dawson) of Alberton and formally of Albany PEI. Aged 46yrs, born in Summerside, she was the precious daughter to her late father Bennett and her mother Erma Dawson (nee MacWilliams).
Devoted wife to Jason and honoured Stepmom (aka Mama bear) to Thomas. Baby sister to Alan (Doris), Brian (Cindy), Blair (Pam), Sterling and Audra (Kevin) McCarville. Daughter in law to Benny and Debbie DeBay. Sister in law to Railene (Jennifer) Pennie, Elaine (Roger) DesRoches and Lorna (Gerry) Stewart. The “cool” and “go to for advice” Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a kind and fun loving friend to so many and as an RN she was a trusted and supportive co-worker, a Mentor, and a strong Patient advocate. PCH and Western Hospital were very fortunate to have had her for a combined service of 18yrs. This is a huge loss. Ruth was predeceased by her brothers Dale, Stephen and Scott and Niece Meranda. She is in their safe keeping.
There will be a service for Ruth at 1100 am on Tuesday August 9, 2022 in the Chapel at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside PE. In memory of Ruth donations to the Autism Society would be appreciated. If you would like to send a condolence to Ruth’s family, please click Online Condolence below.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
