Obituary of Deighan, Ellamay Gladys
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday August 6th, 2022 of Ellamay Gladys Deighan (Cameron) of Summerside, aged 93 years. Ellamay was born in Southwest Lot 16, P.E.I. to the late Russell and Gladys Cameron (MacKinnon).
Beloved wife of the late Wallace Deighan and loving mother of Barbara (David) Wedge. Also lovingly remembered by her 2 grandchildren Aaron (Kendra), Matthew (April), 4 great grandchildren Quinten (Lyanne), Cassey (Joseph),Carter and Haddie and 2 great great grandchildren Gannon and Ensley.
Survived by her sisters Vera Fitzgerald, Jean Smith and Betty (Vince) Poirier, sisters in-law Sheila Cameron and Doris Cameron and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sister Edith (Major) Gamble, brother Edson (Isabel) Cameron, brother in-law Roy Fitzgerald, sister Helen Gamble, brother in-law Bob Smith, brothers Ivan (Isabel) Cameron, Elmer Cameron, Lea Cameron and granddaughter Crystal Wedge.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Monday August 6th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Ellamay’s memory can be made directly to Prince County Hospital Foundation or East Prince Palliative Home Care. Visiting hours on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
