Obituary of Kieran, James Gerald 'Gerry'
The death occurred at his late residence on Sunday August 7th, 2022, of James Gerald ‘Gerry’ Kieran of North Tryon, PEI, aged 84 years. Gerry was born in Montreal, QC, to the late John and Sadie (nee MacKenzie) Kieran.
Beloved husband of 60 years to his late wife Heather (nee Nickson), loving father of Jeff (Joan Gardner), Kelly (Kim) Sampson and Kevin. Remembered by grandchildren Amber, Ashley, Jamie and Kenny, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Wanda Davis. Predeceased by his grandson Andrew and brother-in-law Ed Davis. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends Charles, Rose and Brian and the McAllisters of North Tryon.
Gerry and Heather decided to start a new adventure and moved their family from Montreal to PEI almost 40 years ago, eventually landing in North Tryon where they were welcomed as part of the community and ran the General Store for numerous years.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. The family will celebrate Gerry’s life privately. Memorial donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to the International Children’s Memorial Place. Arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside, P.E.I.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
