Obituary of McNeill, Joseph Cecil
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 of Joseph “Joe” Cecil McNeill of Wellington, P.E.I., aged 83 years. Joe was born in Summerside to the late Ambrose and Gertrude (Deighan) McNeill.
Beloved husband of Rita (MacKinnon) McNeill and loving father of Dwayne (Rachael), Sheldon and Natalie (Kenneth) Griffin. Also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren Kaleb and Ryker Griffin and Siza Ngwenya.
Survived by his brother and sisters Irene (Jimmy) MacDougall, Georgina (Percy) Arsenault, Dessie (Claudette) and by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Faustina (Walter) MacDougall, Anne (Don) Brown, Margaret (Gussie) McNeill, brothers Leo, Everett (Sharon) and Gerald.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. Visiting hours on Wednesday August 31st from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday September 17th at the Immaculate Conception Church, Wellington at 10:30 a.m. followed by the interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Joe’s memory to Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
