Obituary of Gunning, Donald Stanley
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital Summerside, PEI on Sunday September 11th, 2022 of Donald Stanley Gunning of Summerside PE, aged 74 years. Donald was born in Summerside PEI to the late Stanley and Ethel (Smith) Gunning.
Beloved husband of Debora Anne (Williams) Gunning, and loving father to daughters Charlene Gunning, and Susan DesRoche (Mike) and his sons Donald Gunning and Steve Gunning (Donna Lee Arsenault).
Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alisha, Dylan, Mathieu, Brianna, Marc, Hope, Andrew, Dexter, Nicolas and Max. Survived by by his brother James Gunning, sister-in-law Beverley Gunning (MacLeod) and his nieces and nephews Dianna, David, Tammy, Darryl and Michael.
Predeceased by his sisters Eleanor Phillips (Allen), Shirley Gunning and brother John (Beverley) Gunning.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday September 14th, with visiting hours from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., before departing for St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the People's Cemetery, Summerside.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
