Obituary of Cameron, Marion Hildred
The death occurred peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud P.E.I. on Tuesday, October 11th , 2022 of Marion Hildred Cameron, formerly of Augustine Cove, P.E.I., aged 98 years. Marion died a day short of her 99th birthday.
She was born in Augustine Cove, P.E.I. to her late parents Richard and Pearl (nee Best) Cameron. Beloved mother of Garry (Zita) Cameron of Kingston, Faye Cameron of Toronto, ON., Gloria Weatherbie of West Covehead, Miriam Hooper of North Milton, Wayne (Colleen) Cameron of Borden-Carleton, and Darlene Cameron of Summerside.
Also lovingly remembered by her special niece Juanita McLaren of Mississauga, ON., her 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her sisters Margaret (Fraser) Thompson and Eleanor (Harold) MacKenzie and her brother Stanley Cameron. Her sons-in-law Winston Weatherbie and Bob Hooper. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Saturday, October 15th where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m.. Visiting hours on Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.
Interment to take place in the Free Church of Scotland Cemetery, Cape Traverse. Memorial donations in Marion’s memory to the Free Church of Scotland Cemetery Fund or the Parkinson’s Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Marion’s family would like to sincerely thank the management and staff of the South Shore Villa, Crapaud for all the love and care given to their Mother during her time with them. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
