Obituary of Tom LeBlanc
The death occurred suddenly at his home on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, of James Thomas, “Tommy ”, LeBlanc, of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Tommy was born in Summerside and predeceased by his mother Aldona LeBlanc and his beloved wife Marie LeBlanc (nee Peters).
Tommy was a long-time employee of the Town of Summerside and the City of Summerside. He worked with the Water and Sewer department as well as the Summerside Civic Stadium. In his earlier years, he was the equipment manager and trainer for the Summerside Aces hockey team and learned his trade from the late “Lippy” Gaudet.
Tom was an avid shell fisherman and loved to fish trout as much as he loved being at flea markets and auctions.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral by personal request.
Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside, PEI at a later date.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
