Obituary of Doris Farris
IT IS WITH HEAVY HEARTS WE ANNOUNCE the passing of a loving wife mother, grandmother and friend. Doris June Mae Farris (Marchbank) on Thursday, January 19 2023, aged 84 years at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. . Doris was born in Tyne Valley, P.E.I. to the late Keir & Lillian (Beaton) Marchbank.
Beloved wife of James Robert Farris for 61 years and loving mother to Terry (Randy) Oatway Dana, Kim, Krista (Wolfgang) Wagner, Corey and Rob (Tracey). Also lovingly remembered by daughter in-law Jocelyn, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her sisters Donna (John) Robinson,Gale Rogerson Sherrel Wadman, Debbie Gallant and sisters-in-law Goldie and Nancy Marchbank. As well as many nieces and nephews and extended family

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside with a private service for immediate family members. No visiting hours by personal request. Interment to take place in the Wilmot Valley Cemetery, Summerside, at a later date. There will be a celebration of life at the Kensington Legion. 30 Garden drive Kensington, P.E.I. Between 4 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday January 25th. Everyone is welcome to attend.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
