Obituary of Albert Bertram Gaudet
It is with heavy hearts and much love that we announce the death of Albert Bertram Gaudet, of Summerside and formerly of Borden-Carleton PE, after a battle with covid pneumonia, aged 67 years.
Albert passed peacefully with his loving family by his side at Prince County Hospital, on Wednesday January 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Brenda (Jay) Gaudet. Predeceased by his son, Jason Gaudet who also lost his battle with covid pneumonia.
He will be missed by his brother Carl (Sandra) Gaudet, daughter in-law Amanda Gaudet, brother-in-law Brian Jay, sister-in-law Sandra (Walter) Paynter, and his mother-in-law Jessie Jay, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his parents Alban and Alice Gaudet and father-in-law Norman Jay.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Sunday January 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Albert’s memory to the PEI Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
