Obituary of Janet Del Pilar
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, February 19th, 2023 of Janet Del Pilar (Caspillo) of Summerside and formerly of the Philippines, aged 64 years. Janet was born in the Philippines to the late Perfecto and Elisa (Daniel) Caspillo.
Beloved wife of Jimmy Del Pilar and loving mother of Jamie (Roxane Schupbach). Also lovingly remembered by her granddaughter Kaia Ellis.
Survived by her brothers and sister Perfecto Caspillo Jr. (Jane), Noel Caspillo – deceased, Joyfa Ramos (Bobbie), Jose Buen Caspillo (Cristina), Henry Caspillo (Melanie), cousin Ann (Ian) Lockerby, nephew John Lockerby, niece Jill Lockerby and many nieces and nephews.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday February 25th, where a funeral mass will be held in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Summerside at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations in Janet’s memory to the funeral expense fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday, from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday from 2 – 4 and 5 – 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
