Obituary of Elaine Verna Palmer
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 of Elaine Verna Palmer of Borden-Carleton, P.E.I., aged 75 years. Elaine was born in West Devan, P.E.I. to the late Harold Lloyd and Verna (MacFadyen) Palmer.
Loving mother of Laurel (Perry) Thompson and John (Kendra Noonan). She will be missed by special family friend Kevin Burke, her 2 grandchildren Quincy and Brenen Palmer, brother Lloyd (Sheila) Palmer of North Sydney, NS. as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by her brother John David (Infancy), grandparents John D. and Pearl Palmer and Beatrice and James MacFadyen.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, March 6th, where a funeral service will be held in the Bedeque United Church, Bedeque at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Elaine's memory to the PEI Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday from 3 - 6 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
