Obituary of Kenny Bridges
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday May 15th, 2023 of Kenneth “Kenny” Arthur Bridges of Summerside, aged 69 years. Kenny was born in North Enmore, P.E.I. to the late Henry and Agatha (Malone) Bridges.
Beloved husband of Lucia (Arsenault) Bridges and loving father of Laura (Corey) McNeill, Brackley Beach, Donnie (Chelsay) Bridges, Summerside, grandchildren Kayla (Logan), Jaden, Reilly, Isaac, Lexi and Colton and great grandson Waylon.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Iva Everett, Bernetta Reeves, Doreen Dupère, Trudy Matheson, Albert (Sondra) Bridges, Leo (Nanci) Bridges, Joyce (Allie) Dean, Leonard (Darlene), Genevieve (John) Wilson, brother in-law Norm Brown, sister in-law Gwendy Bridges, brother and sister in-laws Paul (late Grace) Arsenault, Francis (Hilda) Arsenault, Raymond Arsenault, Doris (Raymond) Arsenault & Michael Regier as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Harold, Justin and Ricky Bridges, sister Diane Brown, infant siblings Joseph and Edward Bridges, brothers in-law Bruce Reeves and Rudolphe Dupère, father and mother in-law Gerard and Della Arsenault, sister in-law Lorraine Regier and brother in-law Donald Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday May 18th, then to St. Paul’s for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Kenny’s memory to Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
