Obituary of Robert O'Connell Noonan
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert O’Connell Noonan, in his 64th year, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Formerly of Albany, PEI, he was the son of Nora and the late Douglas Noonan. Survived by his loving wife June (nee Dougay). Amazing father of Sarah (Steven) Crozier and proud Papa of Oliver and Bennett Crozier. Son-in-law of Joe and the late Tennie Dougay.
Survived by brothers and sisters, Adele (Dougie) Ryan, Eldon (Dale), Barb (Gordon) Reeves, Clarence (Wanda), Joan (Mike) Roberts, Sharon, and Garth; brothers and sisters -in-law Lawson (Darlene) Dougay, Lloyd (Darlene) Dougay, Nola (Bryan) Razavet, Morgan (Bev) Dougay, Terry (Stacey) Dougay, Jackie (Kim) Dougay and Dwight (Tammy) Dougay. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Robert was always ready to help anyone with construction projects, giving him the nickname “Bob the Builder”. He enjoyed a good game of cards – he never threw out the deck (!!), a round of golf, riding his new e-bike, when the Montreal Canadians won a game, and cheering on his grandsons at their many sporting events. Robert also enjoyed camping and a good BBQ – as long as there were hotdogs! His many devoted friends and family will miss him.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside with visiting hours on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. then to St. Peter’s Church in Seven Mile Bay, PEI on Tuesday May 30 for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
