Obituary of Travis Ryan Matthew
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 of “Travis” Ryan Bruce Matthew of Summerside, aged 40 years. Travis was born in Summerside on October 24th, 1982.
Survived by his brother Trevor (Lynne), children Jacob, Kaarsin, Jasper and Liv, mother Cathy Wood, partner Shelly Coughlin, nephews and nieces Ryan, Kaden, Carter and Shelby Matthew, father Robert Matthew all of Summerside, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Travis loved his children, music, playing guitar, campfires, all outdoor activities, beach, biking and his cat, Gizmo. A celebration of life will be held June 17, 2023 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Credit Union Place (upstairs) to offer condolences, stories and sign the guestbook. Memorial donations in Travis memory to the IWK Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A funeral service and burial arrangements will be announced at a later date.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
