Obituary of Marlene Inez Costain
The death occurred peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, July 28th, 2023 of Marlene Inez Costain (Enman) of Summerside and formerly of Buckhorn, Ontario, aged 83 years. Marlene was born in Springhill, P.E.I. to the late Reuben and Hazel (MacKinnon) Enman.
Loving mother of Darlene (Paul) Murray, LeeAnn Costain (Fenton) and Shane Costain (Helen). Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Scott (Crystal) Murray, Matthew and Rodney Murray, Wade and Clayton Morgan, Dallas and Alisha Costain and several great grandchildren.
Survived by her sisters Joan Arsenault and Deborah Dickieson, sister-in-law Peggy and Kathleen Enman and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers Reuben “Junior” Enman, Jerry Enman, Ralph Enman, sister Joyce (Mike) Smith and grandson Jimmy Lee Costain.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday July 31st, then to the funeral home chapel for a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. for family and close friends. Interment to take place at the Victoria West Cemetery. Memorial donations in Marlene’s memory can be made to the Victoria West Cemetery.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
