My sincere sympathy to the entire Wood family. Growing up, I spent considerable time at the Wood house, both before and after the fire, as well as the cottage. Ione served me many delicious meals on my overnight ventures too. Funny story - I came home after a sleepover at Noelle's saying I had the best macaroni and cheese I've ever eaten. Mom phoned Ione and asked for her recipe, as it was all I could talk about. Turns out, it was my first introduction to Kraft Dinner. Family time with George, Kent, Noelle, Crystal and Ashley were closest to Ione's heart, whether at home, cottage or in the station wagon. She loved her regular visits and chats over coffee with Julia and Annie Lee. She took pride in her flowers and gardens, and was often quick to volunteer to bring cut flowers to events or weekly church services. How she loved planting things that particularly attracted birds and butterflies. For many years, she was the coordinator of communion servers at the church. She held many roles in the UCW Group too. Ione taught Sunday School. How she loved her antique auctions. Ione did everything with a smile, especially greeting people on the ferry. I love that donations are designated to Camp Abegweit - another thing dear to her heart. May you learn new things about her life as people reach out to you during this sad time, and your memories can make you smile. Hugs to you all!

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
