Obituary of John Joseph Gallant
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Tuesday October 31, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, of John Joseph Gallant of Miscouche PE., aged 90 years. John was born in Miscouche PE to his parents Edmond and Bernadette Gallant. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne (Leblanc) who passed away on August 3, 2009, and loving father to Robert (Mary), Wayne, Karen (Grant), Peter (the late Michele).
Also lovingly remembered by three grandchildren Heather (Devan), Stacy, Riley and two great-grandchildren Eliza and Tobias. John is survived by the following brother and sister, Mildred (the late Julian) Gaudet and Albert (Myrna), brother-in-law to Leo (Brenda) Leblanc and Anne Leblanc (Mike)
Predeceased by sisters Louise and Kay, sister-in-law Marie (Vincent) Doucette.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday November 3, 2023 where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 10:00 am. Interment to take place at St. John the Baptist in Miscouche.
Donations in John’s memory to the St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund. Visiting hours will be held Thursday November 2, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at EastPrince Funeral Home.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
