Obituary of Kenneth Gordon Allen
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 of Kenneth “Ken” Gordon Allen of Summerside, aged 70 years. Ken was born in Yellowknife to the late Gordon and Merrill (Tait) Allen. Beloved husband of Janet (Curtis) Allen and loving father of Elmer (Kim) Curtis, Rachel (Mike) Palmer and Steven (Kim) MacPherson.
Also lovingly remembered by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Donna (Don) Collins, two nieces, great niece Abby Raymond and great nephew Jackson Beaulieu.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donation in Ken’s memory can be made directly to The Real Us Complete Services, Summerside PE or the funeral expense fund would be appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
