Obituary of Miriam May Gallant
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, November 7th , 2023 of Miriam May Gallant (nee Manderson) of New Annan, P.E.I., aged 89 years. Miriam was born in Travellers Rest, P.E.I. to her late parents Harold and Louise (nee Mallett) Manderson.
Beloved wife of 68 years to Chester Gallant and loving mother to Peter (Florence) of New London, Brenda (Kenny) of Wilmot Valley, Luke (Karen) of New Annan, Mark (Denise) of New Annan, Paul (Farrley) of New Annan and Scott (Bonnie) of Richmond. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her great-grandson Parker and as the last surviving member of her family she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Lloyd, Royice, Pauline, and Theresa.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, November 10th for a funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Indian River following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Miriam’s memory would be greatly appreciated and can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation, Summerside.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
