Obituary of Barbara Anne Mallory
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Mallory (Gates) of Kingston, Ontario on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Loving mother of Anne (Jeff) Moore and Sarah (Mike) Bertrand and dear grandmother of Mallory, Nate and Lauren Moore and Evan, Zoey and Elizabeth Bertrand.
Daughter of the late Eleanor Gates (Phillips), and Harvey Gates. Predeceased by her twin sister Beverley.
Lovingly remembered by her sister, Joan (Ray) O’Brien and family, niece, Paula (Tammy Sanders) Forbes, and nephew, Jeremy (Colette) Forbes and family. Survived by her half siblings Susan Whelan, Jim Gates and Sharon Gates and predeceased by Judy Gates.
Survived by her aunt Edna (Phillips) MacGregor, and aunt, Virginia (late Carlyle) Phillips, and her many first cousins. She will be missed by her close friends in Kingston.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Friday December 8th, 2023 then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the United Church Cemetery, Birch Hill. Donations in Barbara's memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Visiting hours on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service in the Trinity United Church, 90 Spring St. Summerside.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
