Obituary of Paul Lawrence Birch
The death occurred surrounded by his loving family at Prince County Hospital on Wednesday January 17, 2024 of Paul Lawrence Birch of Summerside aged 33 years. Beloved son of Nola Dugay (Rickey Stewart) and Greg Birch (Michele Dodds-Birch).
Paul will be dearly missed by sisters Blaine Birch, Darcee Birch (Brett St. John), stepbrother Shawn-Michael Dodds, niece and nephews Jaime, Nate and Max, and loving grandparents Bernice and Ernie Birch.
Survived by Aunts and Uncles Linda and Ron Dunne, Sylvia and David Gavin, Brenda and Jeff MacDonald, Colleen Dugay (Bob Ferrier) Karen Mallett (Damien Noonan) Cindy and Neal Merrit, Darren Dugay, Paula and Brian Wedge and many many cousins.
Predeceased by grandparents Jane and Fred Dugay, Aunt Donna Dugay-Pitre, Uncle Paul Mallett, and Uncle Alan Dugay.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until January 22, 2024 where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3:00 pm. Interment to take place at St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Paul's memory can be made directly to IWK Foundation or the Prince County Hospital Foundation. Visiting hours on Monday, January 22, from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
