Obituary of Donald MacDonald
The death occurred suddenly at his late residence at the Kensington Community Care Home on Sunday, January 6, 2024. Donnie who was formerly known as “The Chief” lived a great part of his life in Shamrock before moving to Summerside to live with his brother Angus.
Donnie was the son of the late William and Stella MacDonald.
Survived by his brothers Arthur and David (Rose) all of Shamrock.
Remembered by his nephews & niece: Arthur (Patricia) MacDonald of Summerside, Clint MacDonald (Carolyn Lowther) of Crapaud, Renee Keough of Shamrock and great nephew and nieces William & Sophie MacDonald and Allie, Avery and Katie Keough.
Donnie was predeceased by his brothers Winston, Chester, Angus and sister in-law Darlene MacDonald. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home no service by personal request. Interment to take place in the Springton Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Donnie's memory made directly to the Springton Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
