Obituary of Margaret Patricia DesRoches
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 of Margaret Patricia DesRoches (Robblee) of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 91 years. Margaret was born in North Wallace, NS. to the late William and Annie Robblee (Oxley).
Beloved wife of the late Percy DesRoches and loving mother of Keith (Judy), Eddie, Terry Jamieson, Wilma (Paul) Banks, Tommy (Charlene), Dougie, Jimmy (Tracey), Debi (Ken) Giles, Carol DesRoches, Billy (Gail), Cindy (Andy) Donaldson and Mark. Also lovingly remembered by her 27 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Survived by her sister Elva, brother Carson (Marilyn), brothers in law John and Bill and sisters in-law Marg and Wendy.
Predeceased by her daughter Dale (Gerald) Oxley, sons Robbie and Carl son-in-law Alfie Couch, granddaughter Lena Oxley, great grandson Luc Richard, brothers, and sisters Roger (Alma), Mallie (Art), Bill (Eleanor), Isabel, Keith, Frances (Jerry), Lloyd, Barb and brother in-law Richard.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 where a funeral mass will be held in St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Donations in Margaret’s memory can be made directly to Summerset Manor. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
