Obituary of Vivian May MacKinnon
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Friday, February 16, 2024 of Vivian May MacKinnon of Summerside aged 81 years. Vivian was born in Summerside, PE to the late Lloyd and Florence (Baglole) MacKinnon.
Loving mother of Lloyd (Vivian) Pye, Hugh (Jo-Anne) Pye, Dwight (Linda) Pye, Lianne Wadden (deceased), Kim (Darren) Simmonds. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by her sister Donna Perry and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Lloyd, Gerald, Hubert, Lorraine, Patsy, and Brian.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday February 20, 2024, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vivian’s memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
