Obituary of Nora Peters
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at QEII Hospital , Halifax, NS on Friday, March 22, 2024, of Nora Peters of Summerside, aged 78 years. Nora was born in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Albert & Margaret (Marno) Elliot.
Loving mother of Michelle (Kurt Bowes) Johnson. Also lovingly remembered by her 3 grandchildren Hailey (Louisa Gauvin), Jake and Julia Johnson. Survived by sisters Betty, Jean, Helen (Wilfred) and brother David, nieces and nephews and by her special friend Arthur Arsenault. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Charles and Tommy and sister Susan.
Visiting hours and funeral service will both be taking place at the Central Street Christian Church, Summerside. Visiting hours on Tuesday, April 2 ,2024, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date in the People’s Cemetery, Summerside.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
