Obituary of David Paul Doucette
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday April 21st, 2024 of David Paul Doucette of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 60 years. David was born in Seven Iles, Quebec to his father the late Ray Doucette and his mother Jean (Deagle) Doucette.
Beloved husband of Tracy Doucette and loving father of Samantha (William) Rideout and Aron (Tanya LaForest). He will be dearly missed by his special grandchildren Keira and Raymond Rideout.
Survived by his brother and sisters Sherry (Al) Glass, Don Doucette and Shellie (Peter) Coulson and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sister-in-law Elizabeth Doucette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday April 25th, 2024 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in David’s memory can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. Visiting hours on Thursday from 12:30 until time of service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
