Madame Whelan was my first introduction to the French language at Greenfield in the late 90s. She made it fun and started me on a path that included 4 years living in Quebec and multiple long stays in France. I've often thought about her over the years. The way she seemed so genuinely interested in her students, not just the curriculum. The smiles and laughter that were a sure part of her class. We were lucky to have her

We are sincerely saddened to learn of Marcia's passing. To her family, our sympathy. Also a special thank you for sharing this wonderful lady in the field of education. Marcia was a leader, a trainer and a joyous spirit. She encouraged teachers and students to be their authentic best. I learned much from Marcia's skills as a teacher, an administrator and a live theater-enthusiast when we worked together at Greenfield Elementary School and with the Unit ll School School Board. A treasure that will be missed.
Sincerely,
Pam and Andre Bouchard

I had the pleasure to meet Marcia as a fellow teacher of Core French. We attended many meetings together and she always made those meetings enjoyable, funny and interesting. She often shared how she taught her lessons and we learned, as fellow teachers, so much from her. She had a joie de vivre that was her special gift and happily shared it with us. I am so pleased to have know her. Accept my sincere sympathy. She leaves behind a lot of laughs, a feeling of warmth and joy. Hold your memories close to your hearts.

I was extremely saddened to learn of the passing of "Madame Whelan." During my orientation to Greenfield School back in 1985, she asked me to come and observe her while teaching in her classroom. I was immediately impressed with how well she interacted with her students and the respect they had for her. I was so fortunate to have taught with her at Greenfield for so many years. More recently, about two years ago, I had the opportunity to visit with Marcia. We spent the afternoon laughing about my many mishaps during my first years of teaching and, of course, we spoke entirely "en francais!" I treasure that visit and the opportunity to take one more trip down memory lane. Marcia is someone who will always be an integral part of my teaching career. My sincere condolences to Scott, Bill, and families!

To the family;
Marcia was a special woman. Her warmth and joie de vivre was infectuous and she is one of the reason why we moved to the Island in 1991. Meeting her at Greenfield in June of that year made me think: "I want to teach in this school with such a great staff and vice-principal". I am sure she touched many people that way. She seems to always draw the best out of people. You can all be proud of the contributions she made to her community, her colleagues, her friends and family. I will always keep a special place for her in my heart. Here is to a great lady and a great life! Sinceres condolences.

Sincere condolences to Bill, Scott and their families. Your dear mom and dad jived to our band The Crescendos at St. Paul's center. Their official standing request was Blue Spanish Eyes. Your mom was our Matron of Honor when we were married 16 years ago on May 10th, and she hosted the bride, bridesmaids and photographer overnight the night before the wedding. She was absolutely one of a kind! We will miss her dearly. Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
